Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2017

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated on 9 January every year to mark the contribution of Overseas Indian community in the development of India.
    January 9 was chosen as the day to celebrate this occasion since it was on this day in 1915 that Mahatma Gandhi, the greatest Pravasi, returned to India from South Africa, led India’s freedom struggle and changed the lives of Indians forever.
The PBD convention attracts overseas Indians from all over the world. More than 3000 delegates participated in the PBD in January 2017 in Bangalore. The PBD Convention features Plenary Sessions; an Exhibition; Cultural programmes and provides an opportunity to interact with other Overseas Indians, Policy makers, Political leadership and others and also to explore opportunities to invest in India.

Satven had set up a stall at the PBD 2017 event in Bangalore.

Our honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had walked past the Satven stall on his tour of the exhibition.
    Ajaysingh Goutam, Param Iyer, Srinivasan TR and Novi TP had participated in the event.

Associate Connect – Munich

As part of our associate connect & people development initiatives, Sridhar Lakshminarayanan, conducted a near full-day session on “Customer for Life” concepts & “Deutschland-specific Cultural Orientation” in our offsite center in Munich on October 15 2016.

A quiz was conducted & relevant awareness points, restaurant etiquette, and several tips for building bridges with Germans were passed on.

It was an interactive & lively session, with nearly 100% of our associates working in the Munich area in attendance.

Jose Xavier & Ramesh Naradasu made the session even more worthwhile for our onsite engineers & coordinators with their inputs & suggestions.

Ford Asian India Association (FAIA) Meet

The annual Ford Asian Indian Association (FAIA) Event, held in October 2016, at the Ford Performing Arts Center, was attended by Ford employees, senior executives and suppliers. FAIA celebrated its 20th year with its deep-rooted commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion within Ford Motor Company.

“Ford’s Transformation to Mobility & Automotive Business” was the theme of the annual FAIA event.

Mark Fields, President and CEO was the special guest for the evening. Raj Nair EVP & CTO, presented the keynote address and talked about the four important megatrends which are driving our thinking around mobility and the enablers. He also shared some of the enabling technologies that convinced the employees that now is absolutely the right time to transition from being just an auto company to being an auto AND mobility company.

Innovation Workshop in Germany

With a view to future proofing our organization, we at Satven have been taking up several initiatives to foster the culture of innovation. One such initiative is conducting innovation workshops & related events every month.
    We have already conducted two “Innovation Days” in Hyderabad (end of August & end of September 2016). Both events saw an overwhelming response from our associates.
We have since started extending this to other global locations. . Venkat Yenduri (who has been leading this initiative along with Siva Subramanian) was in our offsite center in Munich on October 21 2016, to conduct the first German “Innovation Day”.

Venkat provided insights into sources of innovation, design thinking, innovation frameworks such as Business Canvas Model, Customer Development & Customer Discover. They also encouraged associates to come up with ideas to future proof our organization. The response was overwhelming & several ideas were generated for subsequent review by the Innovation Committee.

Book Donation

Under our CSR program, Satven WeCare team organised a Note-Book donation drive on 7th December 2016 at the Marwadi Hindi Vidyalaya School. The note-books are made out of the un-used portions of our plotter printouts which are trashed. In addition to this, student stationery was also distributed.

The team was led by our C.E.O. Mr. Rao S. Vadlamudi, interacted with the students and encouraged the students to study hard and focus on the English language apart from scoring well in the exams.

Our C.E.O. also invited the students of class 10 to visit Satven to learn about automotive engineering and the corporate work culture. The “Smile” on the faces of the students left a lasting impression on all of us.

Blood Donation Camp

    Under our CSR program, Satven WeCare team organised a Blood Donation camp which was conducted on the 15th of December, 2016 at our office in Hyderabad, in collaboration with Red Cross. The camp was kick started by Dr. Praveen Mereddy from Care Hospital. He interacted with the associates and shared insights on the importance of Blood Donation and the need to maintain correct body postures. 50+ associates had donated for this noble cause.
Satven always has been in the fore-front for such social cause and will continue to do so. ‘Thank You’ to all the donors.

Indo-Hiroshima Club Activities

    The Indo-Hiroshima Club was formed by likeminded Indians living in Hiroshima with a common interest to promote Indian as well as Japanese culture.
The club is involved in organizing educational, cultural, recreational and social activities and providing assistance and required support to the growing needs, interests and concerns of the Indo – Hiroshima Community.

The club conducts various activities to bring both countries together.

Some of the wide variety of activities that the club is involved in are:
  • Badminton Championship Trophy – July ~ Sep 2016
  • Yoga camp on the occasion of “International Yoga Day “, 2nd July 2016
  • Aosaki Friendship Festival held on 5th & 6th Nov 2016
  • Classical South Indian Music on Veena and keyboard, and Bollywood dances were performed
  • Community Festival: An Indian Snack Food Stall, Indian traditional dress wearing, Mehendi, & a fashion accessories sale was organized.

    Satven Germany Get-together

    Associate get-together along with family members was conducted on 8th October 2016 at Munich, Germany. This event was attended by about 170 associates and family members.

    A number of cultural programs were performed by the associates and family members.

    High performing associates were rewarded with ‘Pat-on-Back’ Certificates.

    Shri Narendra Modi

    Shri NarendraModi, Prime Minister of India visited Tokyo and Kobe in Japan in the month of November 2016. Ambassador of India in Japan, Mr. Sujan R. Chinoy hosted a reception in honor of our PM at Kobe. Satven was one of the Indian companies to receive an invitation to participate in this privileged event.

    Mr. Kishore Mocherla represented Satven, Japan, in this reception held on the 12th of Nov. A few salient points from the address by Shri NarendraModi to the Indian Community in Japan –
  • All the good in INDIA is happening due to 125 Crore Indians.
  • ‘First Develop India’, is my definition of FDI. India is getting historically high FDI and is moving quickly on to the path of economic progress
  • Modi lauds the Indian community in his address, saying, “My fellow countrymen, your achievements abroad make our hearts swell with pride” Sayonara Japan!

    An important friendship stands strengthened as PM emplanes from Osaka for the journey back to Delhi.

    Auto Expo 2016

    The International Auto Expo 2016 is the 13th edition of the Auto Expo in India and the biggest in its history. The show has unveiled several SUVs and crossovers with advanced technologies and features, which played a prominent role in making the show truly international. The expo was organised jointly by ACMA, CII and SIAM during 5th – 9th Feb 2016 at Greater Noida.

    Satven team participated in the Auto Expo by setting up a stall to connect with the Auto Industry and Auto Enthusiasts from around the world. Several industry leaders had visited the Satven stall.
