SETC (Small Engine Technology Conference) 2019
SETC (Small Engine Technology Conference) 2019 conference was held, during 19th to 21st November 2019, in Hiroshima, Japan.The theme of the conference was: Small Powertrains – Innovating for their Future Role.
The product categories in focus at this conference were related to personal mobility vehicles, motorcycles, scooters and their propulsion systems like motors and engines.Multiple Technological areas including New Energy Sources, Components and Materials were in focus at this conference. Plenary sessions, paper & poster presentations and symposium were attended by large number of delegates from industries and academia.
Contrary to the dominant belief that IC engine will soon be replaced by other forms of propulsion systems, SETC had come out with the possibility of a good future for conventional engines / vehicles. And that there is deep research underway to project IC engine technologies that are competitive to EV in terms of emissions.
Other argument that was put forth in the conference was that the emissions from EV, considering the complete cycle, consisting of battery manufacturing, energy generation and application in vehicle, are same or higher compared to IC engines.
Satven had setup a stall at the symposium which attracted many delegates who were keen to know more about the solutions Satven has to offer to the auto industry.

CII – Automotive Design & Engineering 2019
The theme of the conference was “Technological Developments and Trends in Automotive Design & Engineering”.
The key objectives of the conference were to:Eminent speakers from the auto industry spoke on the occasion upon the above topics and interacted with the audience. More than 250 delegates had participated in the event coming from various industries, academia and some of them from the relevant government departments.
Prominent among them were:An Exposition was held on the sidelines of the conference and Satven had setup a stall to display the engineering capabilities and to interact with the delegates during the event.
NASSCOM Design & Engineering Summit – 2019
Dr Kota Harinarayana, Architect, Designer and Project Director of India’s finest indigenous fighter aircraft – LCA Tejas, had graced the occasion and gave the keynote speech during the inaugural session of the summit.
The aim of the event was to showcase a holistic view of thought leaders, practitioners, analysts and academia sharing some of the innovative technologies, industry trends and some use cases on:With 600+ attendees, 180 unique companies, 50+ speakers, and 20+ ER&D start-ups participating, the 11th edition of Design and Engineering summit was a grand event.
It was an opportunity to the engineering community to come together and exchange knowledge and learn from the gurus and question the ideas and benefit from the interactions.The Satven delegation of senior management team was led by our respected CEO Mr. Rao S. Vadlamudi.
DFMA Conference – China
- The China Forum included Keynote Speeches, Networking Opportunities, Case Studies, and a visit to the QualiSys Benchmark Innovation Center.
A Senior Program Manager from Satven participated in the DFMA conference and presented a paper about Benchmarking, Design to Cost and VAVE approach and Satven’s capabilities.
This Conference was attended by 200+ participants from automotive & other industries.Altair Technology Conference 2019
The 15th edition of India Altair Technology Conference (ATC) was held in Bengaluru on 11 & 12 June 2019.
The theme of the 2019 India ATC was Innovation Intelligence. The conference had offered the delegates an opportunity to interact and witness the latest technologies in the field of simulation technology made available under Altair HyperWorks software.
This conference was attended by top industry leaders and had several experts in various speaker panels, who tackled a wide range of topics. This conference helped us in better understanding of Automotive industry trends in EMAG.
Two Satven associates presented following papers at Altair Technology Conference:AuToPros ‘IVC 2019’ – China
Satven has participated in this conference as “Associate Sponsor” and had setup a booth. Satven also got a prime time slot for key note address on first day of the conference.
Satven was recognized and awarded with a certificate in the conference, for its Value Added and Cost Effective Automotive Engineering Solutions for the Chinese Auto Industry.ESI User Forum – India
The theme for this year’s forum was “Smart Virtual Prototyping” with presentations of exciting new developments and trends in CAE World.
Couple of seniors from the Satven CAE team presented a paper on “Test and CAE (SEA based) correlation and performance improvement of a Door Assembly’s Sound Transmission Loss” at the ESI User Forum held in Pune on 9th May 2019.- This seminar was attended by top industry leaders and had several experts in various speaker panels, who tackled a wide range of topics. This workshop helped the team to interact and exchange ideas and clarify on some of the e-Mobility specific differences on the vehicle NVH front.
Day Out @ Satven!
- The program was organized on 30th & 31st MAY 2019 at Satven Corporate Office, Hyderabad. Children from grades 7 and above had participated in this 2-day event. As this was a highly diverse batch, the sessions were meticulously curated to engage the participants.
During the 2 day program project Managers, Program Managers and Business Leaders of Satven introduced the participants to the science and engineering of automobiles, production process & general functioning of an organization. Children toured the Satven facility to see the mechanics in action and also got the opportunity to visit the work stations of their parents.
- Keeping in mind that our children should also be aware of their responsibility towards the environment we live in and being aware of safety aspects of life both inside our living spaces and in the public, Satven team had taken extra efforts to organize talks for the children, by experts from various organizations like Fire Safety, Road Safety and Green Peace volunteers.
- Children were made aware about the Dos & Donts of Fire & Road Safety and the actions we can undertake to take care of our mother earth. Children were quite enthused and asked though provoking questions and were quite pleased with the seniors happily answering them.
- There were several games and quizzes organized during the 2 days to keep the children engrossed and enjoy their camp at Satven.
During the closing ceremony children were given prizes to the winders and certificates to all the children. Our CEO had called and interacted with the children before they all left back to their homes with lots of dreams and happy memories to cherish.
HR Conclave 2019
Global Workforce management Forum along with Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SoA) University, had organized the ‘HR Conclave 2019’, on 20th April 2019, at Hotel Sheraton, Gachibowli Hyderabad.
Dev Dutta Sarma, Head – HR Satven, was one of the distinguished speakers on the occasion. He spoke on how we can create a culture of engagement through empowerment, to encourage people to take risk and what can be done differently to ensure that all strive together for superior organisational performance.
The conclave was attended by CHROs, HR Heads, Talent Acquisition Heads and HR Business Partners from across the corporates.NASSCOM China Roadshow 2019
The seminar and road shows were attended by delegates from Manufacturing and IT companies in China. Satven presented its capabilities in Engineering Solutions domain covering Design, Simulation, Mechatronics and Digital Manufacturing.
Also, Satven has been invited to participate in a panel discussion on “Digitalization in Manufacturing – Trends, Challenges and Solutions” and Satven was represented by its Business Development Manager in China.The Chinese local provincial Governments have shown a lot of interest in promoting the bilateral trades between the two countries.
Mr. Gagan Sabharwal, NASSCOM Senior Director for Global trade development and Dr. Vimal, Deputy Chief of Mission from Indian Embassy, Beijing led the delegation and were instrumental in facilitating the discussions between the Indian delegation and the top leaders of the local Governments.
