Satven at ITEC India 2015

The International Transportation Electrification Conference (ITEC) was held in India for the first time in August 2015 in Chennai. Previous conferences in the US, China and Italy saw overwhelming responses. ITEC is an enabler to move the conventional mobility industry towards electrified sustainable mobility.

Satven had the privilege of putting up a stall at this show, which was visited by several distinguished dignitaries.

ITEC INDIA 2015 focused on all aspects of electric transportation including components, systems, standards and grid interface technologies, related to efficient power conversion for all types of electrified transportation including Electric Vehicles, Hybrid Electric Vehicles and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (EVs, HEVs & PHEVs) as well as heavy duty, rail and off road vehicles, airplanes and ships.

This three-day (August 27 – 29, 2015) conference that was held at the Le Royal Meridien (Chennai) was jointly organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers India (SAEINDIA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Industry Applications Society.

Satven at 2015 India Altair Technology Conference Series

Satven CAE Managers and BDMs attended this conference which was part of the global conference series organized by Altair. It brought together nearly 1000 CAE professionals to deliver their experiences/success through Altair’s suite of product solutions – Optistruct, RADIOSS, Motionsolve, Hypermesh, FEKO, VisSim, PBS Works and Simulation Cloud Solutions. Some enhancements that were highlighted:
  • “Solid Thinking Inspire” tool – this allows design engineers and product designers to quickly & easily investigate structurally efficient concepts.
  • Non-linear optimization
  • Launch of HyperWorks 14
  • Mobile app to enable users to connect to their High Computing servers

Satven at the Conference on Advanced Manufacturing Technologies for the Engineering Sector held on June 26, 2015 at Chennai

The principal objectives of this conference were:
  • To disseminate knowledge on the advanced technologies that are most likely to support the growth of the manufacturing sector
  • To serve as a knowledge platform to discuss key trends, factors and prioritize areas of development that will favor the manufacturing sector
  • To discuss and identify models and systems to catalyze technology implementation in the manufacturing sector
  • To gain the attention of key stakeholders for a technology-rich environment in the manufacturing sector that ensures sustainability and profitability
  • To aid in the development of effective policies by government agencies
  • To aid the Indian industry in interactions with international networks for collaborative R&D and product development
  • To facilitate knowledge flow by working with international organizations through bi-lateral / multilateral cooperation mechanisms.
Satven had the honor of putting up a stall in this conference which was held at the ITC Grand Chola in Chennai. Several industry leaders and managers from prestigious OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers, such as Honda India Cars Engineering, Ford India Ltd, Varroc Engineering India, BHEL, BEML, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, TAFE, Cummins India, AMW, Siemens, Robert Bosch, Mahindra & Mahindra, TVS and JBM Group, visited our stall. Satven at Customer Conclave in Shanghai, China

Satven had the unique opportunity to co-host a Technology Conclave on 2nd July 2015 at the Jiading Incubation Centre, Shanghai, along with Shanghai Jiading Advanced Technology Innovation and Incubation Center and Shanghai Jiading Automobile Design and Development and Research Alliance.
    The theme of the conclave was “Automotive Safety Technology”.
    In his introductory address, Mr. Jia, Director Jiading Incubation Centre, highlighted the activities and initiatives taken by his centre to promote the growth of the industry in Jiading. He also made special mention of the YC Centre set up in collaboration with Satven.
    Mr. Rao, CEO, Satven, addressed the gathering and introduced Satven and its growth plans for China. He also spoke about the plans being put in place for the development of the YC Centre.
    Mr. Krishnakumar, Vice President – Business Development (APAC) gave a corporate overview of Satven to the august gathering.
    This was followed by a technical presentation by Mr. Du Ai Min, Professor, Tongji University, who introduced the theme of the conference, viz., Automotive Safety Technology. He touched upon all areas in the product lifecycle such as design, engineering, testing and development.
    The technical deep dive sessions were up next and they were spearheaded by Mr.Venkat Y, Asst. Vice President, CAE, who showcased our experience and expertise in “Advancements in Pedestrian & Occupant Protection” as well as “Advancements in Shallow Offset Frontal Crash”.
    Mr.Bala J., Senior Project Manager talked in detailed about Analytical Benchmarking involving BIW & Closures.

Satven at the Conference on Future of Automotive Design

    The Tamil Nadu Technology Development & Promotion Center of CII organized a one-day Conference on the Future of Automotive Design on the 9th of October 2015 at Hotel Le Royal Meridien, Chennai. It was a laudable initiative as it brought together industry, academia and government bodies under one roof to discuss current and future trends in automotive design.
    The one day event had several technical sessions by eminent speakers on key automotive design trends – some topics covered were robust design strategies, optimization methodologies, how industries approach design, innovation by design and trends in automotive safety.
    Satven was an associate sponsor of the event and had also set up a stall to showcase its engineering capabilities and to market Brand Satven to the auto design & engineering community. The show attracted several auto industry leaders, technologists, R&D professionals, professors from leading universities and the student community.
    Venkat Yenduri, Assistant Vice President – CAE, Satven, had the audience engrossed with his talk on innovative advances in crash worthiness, pedestrian protection and occupant safety.

Industry 4.0 – Integrating Innovation for the New Smart World – Satven sponsors & participates in the NASSCOM Engineering Summit 2015

The Digital Revolution is now all pervasive and its penetration into all types of businesses is progressing at a rapid pace. The Manufacturing Industry has also jumped into the race and begun embracing digital technologies to transform the industry with the Smart Factory concept.

While it was the industrial revolution that ultimately led to the rise of the technology industry, what the world is witnessing now is a reversal – Digital Technology is leading to a new kind of industrial revolution – Industry 4.0.

Industry 4.0 vision is to marry the Industrial Revolution with the Digital Revolution to transform the way businesses are done going forward. Enterprises are increasingly looking to leveraging the global Innovation capacities available to enable the Industry 4.0 vision.

The 7th NASSCOM Engineering Summit was held against this backdrop to demonstrate India’s thought leadership and readiness to take on these emerging opportunities.

Satven was a Silver Sponsor at this prestigious Engineering Summit, held on the 7th & 8th October 2015 at Hotel Westin, Pune. Satven had also set up a stall to showcase its engineering capabilities and the solutions offered by it to the global Auto Industry.

Sridhar Lakshminarayanan, Global Delivery Head for CAE, Satven, was a panelist in the discussion titled “Extracting the creativity through collaborative innovation for Smart Manufacturing”. Sridhar’s talk was titled “Manufacturing Smart Materials for Light-Weighting: A Future Automotive Challenge”. He spoke at length on why light-weighting is the order of the day in today’s automotive industry, methods to reduce vehicle weight, the driving parameters of smart manufacturing, trends in material composition and evolution of traditional materials, novel sandwich structures, smart structures with smart materials, current & future challenges, and the way forward. He also dwelled upon some of the challenges one would encounter while representing smart materials & joining methods in the virtual CAE world.
