Bathukamma is a colourful and vibrant festival of Telangana and celebrated by women, with flowers that grow exclusively in each region. This festival is a symbol of Telangana’s cultural identity. Bathukamma comes during the latter half of monsoon, before the onset of winter. Bathukamma means ‘Mother Goddess come alive’ and the festival represents the cultural spirit of Telangana, symbolizing the patron Goddess of womanhood. The enthusiasm and excitement was at the same level as the celebration of Dussehra.
Women associates were actively involved in the flower decoration for Bathukamma, called a “taambalam” made by arranging flowers in circular rows. The flowers are placed in concentric circles, forming a pyramid.
Dandiya-style dance was also performed by the women associates. The dance was well choreographed by a professional dancer, adding to the enjoyment of the celebration. Lastly, the women associates posed for a group picture with the management team capturing the memories of this festive event & marking the end of a joyful and memorable celebration!
