        Skill set:

        • Proficient in CATIA V5 (GSD/Sheet metal/Part/Assembly/Drawing Workbenches), Teamcenter and Vismockup

        Domain Knowledge:

        • Experience in BIW (Body-in-White) Design of Structures such as Body Closure / Underbody / Upperbody / Front End Structure.
        • Experience in Closure (Door, Tailgate & Hood) Design & Development:
        • a. Systems and their Subsystems
        • b. Inner / Outer panels, Reinforcement
        • c. Mechanisms – Hinges, Handles, Latches, Actuators, Regulators
        • Understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling and stamping requirements, and assembly sequences of BIW and Closures.
        • Relevant experience in AL-PL layout, Master Sections, Vehicle Integration, Vehicle Packaging, Concept creation, and assembly processes of various parts.
        • Knowledge of relevant Regulations & Homologation requirements.
        • Good knowledge and hands-on experience of GD&T for CAD models and drawings.
        • Knowledge in WERS, GPDS & DPA 0/1 assessments in E2KS. 

        Job Description:

        • Contribute to concept development, Value Analysis – Value Engineering (VA-VE), and innovative proposals.
        • Lead the Design, Development and CATIA V5 Body Engineering CAD concepts/solutions for ongoing and new projects for Upperbody, Underbody, and Closures.
        • Define and implement joining strategies such as SPOT welding, MIG welding and other attachment features.
        • Ensure design compliance with BIW and vehicle attributes, technical and structural requirements, quality objectives, program milestones deliverables and specific targets (cost, weight, timing, etc.).
        • Coordinate with the manufacturing team on mass production assembly solutions, assembly sequence, and part feasibility.
        • Interact with the CAE team and interpret results to meet all Regulatory, Safety, NVH, Deflection, and Fatigue requirements.
        • Ensure proper engagement interfaces with mating components and respective clearances with surrounding components, thereby meeting DPA Standards.
        • Facilitate timely and frequent engineering review of CAD.
        • Work on cross-functional teams (Suspension, Powertrain, Manufacturing, and Interior) to develop efficient designs and lead the integration of interfacing components.
        • Support DFMEA, DVP&Rs, and GD&T documentation.
