- Identify Critical Characteristics and document on drawings, based on analytical results.
- Perform comparison studies of measured data versus objectives and GD&T specification MCR’s/Nom Shift/Tol Relief.
- Research and analyze data such as RSS, specifications, component tooling tolerances to determine design feasibility.
- Define and document quality goals (dimensional and functional) by developing quality objective targets on key product criteria.
- Coordinate all Datum schemes (locator logic) and assembly.
- Perform variation reduction and dimensional sensitivity studies and document.
- Monitor and control the dimensional objective documents.
- Measurement point and fixture certification data generation.
- Responsible for obtaining dimensional requirements for interfacing parts to develop system level analyses.
- Work with inspection fixture suppliers to develop concepts, ensure fabrication of fixtures meet specifications and certify fixtures.
- Purchased parts – responsible to provide dimensional approval for tool texturing authorization.
- Participate in fit validation activities, root cause and define solutions.
- Work effectively in a team environment with a cross-functional team: design, tooling, CAE, quality, manufacturing.
- Check and approve final released GD&T components and assembly drawings.
- Vehicle Dimensional Product Engineering experience: Minimum of 4 years’ experience. (ex: Instrument Panels, Door trim, Floor Consoles, Garnish).
- Expert working knowledge of GD&T (ASME/ANSI/ISO).
- Proficient at RSS stacks: roll up and roll down.
- Energetic personality: Self starter with a high passion for success.
- Proficient in using Catia and/or NX: 2D and 3D.
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
