IVI Automation and Test tools Development

      Job Summary:

      • Test Software Developer/Core Developer specializing in building extensible, maintainable automation frameworks from the ground up and managing the full lifecycle of testing tools, including sophisticated versioning and release management via Git/GitHub. Expert in bridging the gap between business requirements and technical implementation through BDD methodologies.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Framework Architecture: Design and maintain core BDD frameworks (e.g., Behave) ensuring modularity, reusability, and scalability. Develop and maintain a shared library of reusable Gherkin step definitions to prevent code duplication across multiple feature teams. Create libraries that support testing scenarios.
      • CI/CD Integration: Develop and manage GitHub Actions or JFrog pipelines to trigger automated suites upon PR creation, merging, or scheduled releases.
      • Release Management: Oversee the versioning of the testing library itself, ensuring that different versions of the test suite remain compatible with corresponding versions of the application under test.
      • Mentoring: Train other engineers in the usage of the framework and tools.

      Qualifications:

      • Testing Experience: Mastery of BDD and TDD. Experience extending Cucumber/Behave core functionalities. Specialized knowledge in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) integration, including managing real-time constraints and signal processing within automated scripts.
      • Programming Experience: Deep understanding Object-Oriented Principles. Skilled managing Linux-based test runners and shell scripting. Able to optimize code, and implement architectural solutions for cleaner solutions.
      • Version Control Experience: Mastery of advanced Git operations (Interactive Rebase, Cherry-picking, Hooks, and Submodules). Experience managing GitHub Enterprise features, including complex Environments, OIDC Secrets Management, and Custom Actions, for automating the full test-software development lifecycle (SDLC).
      • Sprint Commitment & Delivery: Strong focus on Agile/Scrum methodologies, with a proven ability to meet sprint goals and deliver all assigned user stories on time. Familiar with “Three Amigos" Agile approach.
      • Hardware Interaction: Hands-on experience with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) test benches. Ability to operate lab equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes for hardware-software interface validation.
      • ALM & Testing Tools: Experience managing the testing lifecycle using Jira, Jama, Test Rail, and Gherkin for behavior-driven development (BDD).

      Desirable:

      • Infotainment Expertise: Proven experience validating Infotainment systems, including Smartphone Integration (Projection), Audio management, HMI/Display functionality, and Connectivity.
      • Electrical Schematic Interpretation: Solid ability to read and interpret automotive electrical diagrams and wiring harnesses to identify signal paths, pinouts, and power distribution for effective HIL and vehicle troubleshooting.
      • Protocol & Tool Proficiency: Advanced use of network analysis tools (Vector CANoe/CANalyzer) and diagnostic protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet). Familiarity with Ford-specific tools like DET is a plus.
