Systems Validation Engineer - HIL Testing / dSPACE (Onsite, USA)

The Systems Validation Engineer supports product development and system integration processes by developing test procedures for automated execution, implementing tests using Hardware in the Loop equipment, documenting and reviewing execution reports, reporting incidents, and tracking software updates to fix issues. The Systems Validation Engineer develops expertise in test design and has advanced knowledge in vehicle functional partitioning, electrical and communication architectures, Client’s embedded software processes, and the Global Product Development System. This role requires close collaboration with feature owners, engineering, and suppliers to develop a strong understanding of the vehicle functions and implement appropriate test design strategies for early identification of defects and to provide evidence of defect elimination.

Experience Profile - Essential:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience with automotive electronic systems, sensors, and actuators
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing testing or quality assurance methodologies
  • 2+ years of experience in development and execution of functional test procedures within a software or vehicle testing organization
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical schematics for vehicle components and systems and electrical architectures of distributed systems
  • 3+ years of experience in embedded controller networks (CAN, LIN) and the use of ECU diagnostic and network communication tools to verify and troubleshoot distributed vehicle systems (e.g. CANoe, CANalyzer) and Knowledge on CANFD protocol
  • Hands-on experience with dSPACE hardware-in-the-loop systems is highly desired
  • Capable of developing requirements-based test plans for electrical systems. Good understanding of microprocessor-based electronics and electronic circuits.

  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Embedded Systems
  • Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink modeling and simulation of plant and control systems is desired
  • Experience with dSPACE Control Desk and Automation Desk or similar testing tools
  • Good communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand Hardware-in-Loop systems and work with integrating functional models in HIL
  • Exposure to Body/Powertrain HIL’s & related validation
  • Understand all relevant areas of dSPACE HIL-Modeling and Deployment / Troubleshooting
  • Ability to comprehend Vehicle functionality and map it in Simulink/MBD environment
  • Ability to work independently on assigned task
  • Develop and demonstrate keen system level appreciation
  • Be a team player and effectively communicate ideas and issues to the teams
